Ahhh I love rooftop sessions!! Emilee found some of my rooftop engagement photos in Los Angeles, CA on Pinterest and wanted a similar vibe for her and David’s engagement photos. I was suuuuper down because hellooo who doesn’t love a good DTLA rooftop engagement session? I DO!
We struggled to find a date that worked for all of us because David plays soccer for LA Galaxy, so he’s a busy guy. Literally a week before we took the photos we solidified a date hahaha. Whatever, it all worked out! I scoped out some rooftops on Google Maps and thought we were good to go. Little did I know, a bunch of the locations I pinned are CLOSED on Sunday’s. Big bummer, but no worries, I got there early so I drove around until I saw this spot tucked away on a little street with a name I wasn’t even paying attention to because I was stressed I wasn’t going to be able to find a good spot. I sent Emilee my location, and we were GOOD TO GO!
Emilee & David ran into some traffic on the way, and the sun was setting FAST, but we shot in the most gorgeous blue hour light once they got there. It was actually perfect and I’m so glad it worked out how it did!
Emilee originally wanted to take their engagement photos in New York City, but David (obviously) wasn’t down to fly to NYC just to take some engagement photos, so rooftop engagement photos in Los Angeles were the next best thing. She had a vision of a romantic dip kiss shot at night with cars and buildings in the background, and I knew the PERFECT spot to get it. After we were done at the rooftop, we made our way to the streets to grab the shot. So much fun with these two!
