Crystal Cove State Park, Newport Beach
This is one of my favorite beaches of ALL TIME. I know of the best locations at Crystal Cove for engagement photos because they’re almost always empty and the backdrops are BEAUTIFUL! I shoot here a lot!
Santiago Canyon, Orange
Santiago Canyon in Orange County is MASSIVE. There are so many spots to take some great engagement photos in Santiago Canyon. The are has a bunch of hills and greenery and trees – it’s a super versatile spot and is perfect if you’re looking for outdoorsy vibes for your engagement photos.
Palm Springs (I LOVE PALM SPRINGS SO MUCH)
Ohhh man. Taking engagement photos in Palm Springs is one of my favorite things to do! I love the mid-century modern architecture and all of the palm trees and, of course, the windmills! Palm Springs is a FANTASTIC location to take engagement photos in Southern California.
Downtown Santa Ana
Downtown Santa Ana offers tons of great backdrops and is a great location to take engagement photos in Southern California! It’s is such a hidden gem! There are so many great little pockets here that make for really cool engagement photos. It has a great vintage vibe as well which I LOVE.
Downtown Los Angeles (one of my FAVES!)
DTLA has some of the COOLEST spots to shoot. I love allllll the city vibes it gives off and how there are places to shoot around literally every corner!

Angeles Crest Highway, Los Angeles
This whole area is killer. I mean, check out that VIEW! I know some really great little pull-offs on the Angeles Crest Highway that are sooooo great.
Balboa Fun Zone, Balboa Island, Newport Beach
Taking engagement photos at the Balboa Island Fun Zone in Newport Beach is suuuuch a fun idea. You can ride the ferris wheel, get a slice of pizza, play some arcade games – the possibilities are ENDLESS. You can also walk down to the beach down the street if beach engagement photos are your vibe!
Joshua Tree National Park, Joshua Tree
Joshua Tree is one of the most unique places I’ve ever been to. It has funky rock formations like Vasquez Rocks, but they’re totally different. And there are these weird little trees all over the place too. It’s such a cool place! Plus, there’s a saloon right outside the park that has one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while! And lots of beer.
Vasquez Rocks, Los Angeles
This place is SO COOL! Fun fact, Star Trek was filmed here!! The rock formations here seriously make it feel like you’re on another planet.
Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Yorba Linda
This place is seriously a hidden gem. Long story short, Redwood seeds were planted here and now Southern California has its very own Redwood grove! They aren’t as tall as their Northern California counterparts, but they are gorgeous.
