This was my first COVID micro wedding! Jayne & Nolan’s wedding in Hawaii got postponed due to the coronavirus, but they didn’t want to wait a whole year to get married, so they did it anyway! Instead of having a huge event, just their immediate families attended. They had their micro wedding in a beautiful little park in Orange County, CA. Having your micro wedding at a local park is a great way to save money while still being able to get married!
Jayne & I were in sorority together in college, so we go way back! She and Nolan have been together for SO so long – finally they tied the knot! When Jayne told me their wedding was postponed for 2021 and wanted me to photograph their micro wedding in Orange County, I was all for it! Obviously COVID-19 has affected weddings so much in just a few months, but it’s great to see how people have found ways to still be able to celebrate their love while being safe and stopping the spread.
The park where they chose to have their Micro Wedding is called Florence Joyner Olympiad Park and has the most beautiful little rose garden, which is where Jayne walked down the aisle with Nolan and their families waiting at the end. This Orange County Micro Wedding was short and sweet with just their immediate families in attendance.
To plan your own Orange County Micro Wedding or Elopement, I’d suggest first reaching out to a photographer you love (how about me!?) so she can help you figure out a date and location if you don’t already have that figured out. You also should hire a videographer (I shoot video, too!) so you can have the day on video as well.
After you lock in your date, photographer, videographer, and location, you gotta make sure it looks pretty! You can reach out to a planner such as Diana Belle of Knots & Belles who can help you bring your Orange County Micro wedding to life! You’ll also need florals, and Brandon of Fresh by Brandon can DEFINITELY help you out there! He’s the best and will give you the florals of your DREAMS!
After you have florals and decor, you just need outfits for you and your lover and to invite whoever it is you want to be there, and you’re golden. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out! If you need any other tips to plan your Orange county micro wedding or elopement, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m here to help us all navigate this journey!
